Plot[]
Part One: Carla unleashes a tirade of verbal abuse at Tony but he's unmoved. Robbie hands the insane man the gun. He abuses Hayley for the narrow life that she and Roy lead. The court usher tells David that Anka can't be found and he's up next. Robbie demands his money from Tony, wanting to be away and have no part in the upcoming killing. During an adjournment Audrey and Nick are distressed to hear of Anka's desertion. They realise that they must pin their hopes on David's testimony. Carla can't help provoking Tony, despite Hayley's pleas. Hayley pleads to know why she's involved. Tony answers that he hates Roy and he intends to mess with his mind. Maria arrives back on the street to tie up loose ends regarding Lad Rags and the sale of No.7. She plans to call on Carla but goes to the Rovers with Kirk and Tyrone first. At Tony's request, Robbie returns with petrol. Tony confirms to Carla and Hayley that he is going to kill them, and he's going to enjoy doing so.
Part Two: David is beset by nerves as he enters the witness box but is determined to convince the jury of Gail's innocence. Tony raids the Underworld safe to pay off Robbie and is shocked to find it empty. Carla is nonplussed. Angry Robbie refuses to help Tony any further until he is paid. David tells Mr Hughes and the court that Joe was an idiot but Gail loved him and would never have harmed him. Tina is livid at his words. Audrey and Nick are relieved it seems to be going well. Maria's shaken to hear of Tony's escape but is mollified when Michelle and Kirk assure her that the police think he's absconded through the airport. The prosecution accuses David of being a dishonest witness, pointing out how he stole a motorboat in order to tow Joe's boat back from the lake. David gets agitated and, pushed into a corner, has to admit that he sent the text to Tina on her birthday and Gail lied to protect him. While Tony is trying to find some money, Hayley does her best to connect with Robbie. When Tony returns, Robbie demands £5,000 instead of the promised £2,000 and Tony, though surprised, goes to arrange it. While he is away, Carla and Hayley try to turn him against his paymaster. They succeed and Robbie doesn't trust Tony's assurances when he returns that he'll get his money. The prosecution sums up, highlighting how Gail lied about the text, and all of her actions after Joe's disappearance were illogical. Robbie points the gun at Tony who tries to tell him how the good times are coming with his money. Carla and Hayley shout for help. Robbie hands the gun back to Tony who immediately tells him that he's lied and there is no money. Mr Hughes sums up for the defence saying Joe's death was a tragic accident and there is no evidence of a crime. The court is adjourned. Carla taunts Tony about being a coward. Tony shoots Robbie dead. Hayley and Carla are terrified. Maria leaves Liam with Michelle and heads over to see Carla. Tony asks his captors who's next as Maria approaches.
