Plot[]
Part One: David receives a letter calling him as a witness for the defence at Gail's trial. Becky's refusing to talk to Steve. Gail tells Tracy she has a meeting with her legal team today. Tracy puts on a show of sympathy and offers to let her to offload on her after she's seen them. Rosie accuses Graeme of upskirting her. He has to put Eileen off the idea when she mentions Jason might break the door of No.12 down to gain entry. Kirk bumps into Izzy and tells her that he's applied for the trainee machinist position at Underworld. Fiz offers to give him some tips ahead of his interview. Graeme finds Tina is more upbeat. He warns her that the Grimshaws are getting impatient about selling the flat and pushes her to go for a walk with him later on. Gail meets with Mr Hughes, her barrister, and his junior Ms Waller who predict the prosecution's likely line being one of her leaving Joe to drown. She thinks it sounds like madness.
Part Two: Liz asks Becky if she and Steve really ought to be thinking about adopting children when they can't stop rowing. Deirdre visits Tracy, who begs her not to allow Steve and Becky to take Amy from her. Nick and David meet with the Dan Lees, the journalist from the Gazette, but are disappointed when he explains that legally he cannot print anything in support of Gail until after the trial. In the deserted factory, Kirk stabs his finger on the sewing machine. Fiz and Izzy despair. Gail's horrified when Tracy advises her to plead guilty to manslaughter to secure a lighter sentence. She angrily maintains her innocence and reminds Tracy that she's the cold-blooded killer. Tracy fumes. Tina waits until nightfall before going on her walk with Graeme. She feels sorry for him when a passing Rosie calls him a loser. Hayley tries on a salsa dress with Anna after their class. She's flattered by the attentions of fellow dancer Gerald. Tracy demands to see the police, saying she has vital information. Becky and Steve start talking again. Becky thinks they ought to weigh the adoption up. Deirdre tells the McDonalds that Tracy wants them both to visit her to sort out their grievances. Tracy tells DS Carr and DC Glynn that Gail has confessed to murdering Joe with a rolling pin and she will testify for a move to an open prison. They are dubious but thank her for her help.
