Plot[]
Part One: Tracy is unable to sleep, absorbed with thoughts of Amy. Deirdre is similarly awake, worried whether to take Amy to see her mother on her prison visit today as it might further upset the little girl. Hayley's also had a restless night due to the smoke alarm battery bleeping. She wakes to find Roy has risen early and is in a pensive mood regarding death and their finances. Jason chases Graeme for the key to No.12 but he successfully fobs him off. Lloyd agrees to write Eddie a reference for the adoption application. Becky begins completing her and Steve's adoption application forms. She is worried that Tracy will blame them when Deirdre tells them that she's not taking Amy on the prison visit. Gail phones David with the news that her trial could be brought forward to two weeks' time. She's worried, but David tells her to focus on coming home. Deirdre visits Tracy who's angry that she hasn't brought Amy with her, but she manages to calm herself down. Deirdre's apprehensive when Tracy says she's going to take control of matters from now onwards. Graeme cooks for Tina and tries to get her to go out for a walk with him but she refuses. Tracy insists to her mother that she needs to see her solicitor in person urgently. A suspicious Deirdre asks her what she's up to.
Part Two: Roy is busy completing some online research. Graeme refuses to let Jason have his key when he demands it. Tracy's solicitor visits and tells her that Becky can't adopt without her consent. Tracy tells him she has a plan to get released early. Steve and Becky are depressed by the number of dubious "significant relationships" that they each have to confess to on their forms. Roy tells Hayley that their pension benefits would improve if they were to have a civil partnership as their marriage means nothing in the eyes of the law. Hayley's hurt. She reminds him they could marry properly now but Roy feels a civil partnership would be sufficient. Gail's developing rapport with cellmate Lyn is interrupted when Lyn is suddenly moved to another wing. Lloyd agrees to provide a reference for Steve's adoption application as well. Teresa's upset when Lloyd is continuously short with her. Hayley tells Anna how hurt she is by Roy. Deirdre tells Ken that Tracy must be up to something. Gail is shocked to be introduced to her new cellmate - Tracy.
