Plot[]
Part One: A determined Audrey arrives in her car to have it out with Rita but is thwarted when Sophie bumps into her and spills coffee all over her. Audrey goes back home to change. Rita rings Lewis to thank him for a lovely evening. Steve and Becky inform Liz that they have decided to adopt. Liz fears it's too soon after the miscarriage. Mary's excited about the trip to Bronte country but Norris is unnerved when he discovers that the cottage has one bedroom. Told about the adoption, Claire explains to Steve and Becky that they will probably have to adopt an older child rather than a baby. As an incentive, Trevor and Janice decide they will reward their dieting efforts with a chip supper later in the week. Sophie berates Ryan for seeing a girl named Tamsin Beasley instead of Sian and tells him to be at Prima Doner before 3.00pm. A bad-tempered Audrey arrives at Rita's flat and thinks Lewis is there, but finds out it's Emily instead. As Emily hastily leaves, Audrey demands some straight-talking from Rita.
Part Two: Steve and Becky research adoption online. Audrey chastises Rita for booking Lewis behind her back. Rita's indignant and reminds Audrey they are both just clients to him. Simon gets ready for Josh's birthday party. Peter and Leanne persuade Ken to celebrate his wedding anniversary on this coming Thursday. Things get heated between Audrey and Rita and old resentments about Alf resurface. Carla invites Trevor on another date. He accepts but is unable to avoid a clash with his chippy night with Janice. Deirdre's delighted when Ken announces he's arranged a party in the Rovers to mark their anniversary. Sophie contrives a meeting between Ryan and Sian outside the kebab shop and leaves them to make up. Steve tells Becky he's concerned what effect the adopting decision might have on Amy. Becky's disappointed when he tells her that he would like to wait until the time is right to adopt. Norris is worried as he hears the row going on above him. When Rita accuses Audrey of marrying Alf for money, she slaps her face and flounces out. Rita's stunned.
