Plot[]
Part One: Peter and Leanne take Simon round to No.1. Ken and Deirdre are delighted to see him. Joe's burial takes place. Gail's grief-stricken whilst Tina's nowhere to be seen. The Barlows listen in amazement as Simon describes his train and bus journey home by himself. Simon tells the how George was planning to take him to Berkshire and that's why he did a runner. Jason can't find Tina anywhere. She is at No.11 where she tells the police how Gail forced her to lie to them that Joe was alive and that she's planning to leave the country for Milan tomorrow. Molly has returned to work. Kevin rings and asks to see her at the garage. The funeral party takes place in the Rovers. Tina comes in but refuses to join Gail in her booth. Molly assures Kevin that he's only just found out she's four months' pregnant but she's sure that the baby is his. In shock, they argue about what's happened. As Tina watches on with satisfaction, everyone's stunned when DS Carr and DC Glynn arrive at the pub and arrest Gail on suspicion of murder.
Part Two: David and Audrey protest as Gail is driven away. Kevin burns the scan photo and tells Molly it's an unwanted pregnancy and she should get an abortion. She's outraged. George calls at No.1. Peter tells him there's no news so Leanne steps in and tells him the truth. Peter angrily tells him that Simon never wants to see him again and shuts the door in his face. Tina admits to Jason that she put the police on to Gail. He can't believe that Gail is capable of murdering someone. The police won't let the Platts see Gail. Meanwhile, the police question Gail, asking if she was planning to flee the country and again suggesting that she was on the boat with Joe when he died. She denies it. Ken relents and lets George into No.1. George apologises, promising he'll drop the legal action and admitting Simon is best off with Peter. He leaves in tears. Gail insists she loved Joe, and his death must have been a tragic accident. The police refuse to let her go. Having calmed down, Kevin calls at Molly's flat and tells her that he's happy to pay for an abortion, but if she chooses to keep the baby he wants nothing to do with it. She's devastated and throws him out. Gail is charged with Joe's murder. She stares in disbelief.
