Plot[]
Part One: On edge, Peter sets off with Leanne to collect Simon from George and Eve. As Kelly gossips about Teresa, Trevor's puzzled to learn that she's the factory cleaner. He congratulates Carla on her joke and offers to buy her a drink to apologise. She accepts with the caveat that the staff don't find out. Tina can't believe Gail could commit murder but she cannot make sense of what's happening. Worrying over Gail, Audrey praises David's support of her. He's unhappy that Gail has summoned Nick to Weatherfield for support. Peter and Leanne arrive at the Wilsons' house but George informs them that Simon's already gone with Eve to school. Peter seethes but agrees to collect him that afternoon direct from school. Once they've gone, George goes back inside where Simon is still with Eve. George tells his wife that he can never trust Peter with his grandson. She's unhappy with his actions. Tina calls at No.8 to find out what the police asked her but David insists they were just covering all angles so they can't be accused of an imperfect investigation in the future. Gail and Tina are somewhat pacified by his argument. Nick arrives and goes straight to the factory to ask Carla to reconsider his offer. She sends him packing, but he makes it clear that he does not intend to give up.
Part Two: John offers to help Chesney with his Shakespeare homework. Gail's relieved to have Nick home. The police ring her. Peter and Leanne prepare a special welcome meal for Simon. The police tell Gail that Joe's body is being released for a funeral. Nick and David surmise that Gail must be in the clear. The factory staff speculate what Nick wanted with Carla as Kelly and Teresa continue to snipe at each other. At Bessie Street, Peter and Leanne are furious to find out from Joshua that George picked up Simon from school earlier. Peter rings George demanding that he return his son. Gail passes on the news to Tina. Realising how little she really knew about Joe, Gail asks Tina to help with the funeral arrangements. Tina agrees, reassuring Gail that Joe loved her. John enjoys teaching Chesney. George calls at Peter's flat without Simon. He tells him that he's keeping hold of his grandson until Peter can be trusted. Peter goes berserk and storms out of the flat, intent on fetching Simon, and vowing never to let George near him again.
