Plot[]

Part One: A distraught Gail struggles to take in the news from the police, refusing to believe that Joe is dead. David desperately tries to stop her from saying anything incriminating. Sunita tries to get rid of Matt but Dev arrives home with her aunts and the twins and he is forced to make the excuse that Matt is the children's maths tutor. Carla makes Janice stay behind after work to clean the toilets, making it clear that she's heard what she said about her. Tyrone tells Jack that he's realised that Molly is not going to return to him. Gail asks the police for time before she answers further questions. The police need her to identify the body. As Audrey comforts Gail, David volunteers to visit Tina to break the news. Matt accuses Dev of stealing Sunita from him. Dev tells him that he and Sunita are just trying to hide their divorce from the aunts. Matt reluctantly leaves. Anna's horrified to learn of Quinny's brother's ordeal. He is resolved to carry on serving his country. Connie answers the phone to Jackie Dobbs and tells her about Molly leaving. David breaks the news to Tina. She accuses him of lying and attacks him, but then breaks down as the news sinks in.

Part Two: Tina, Jason and David come round to No.8 where Gail and Audrey confirm the news. Jack and Tyrone return from the Rovers to the news of Jackie's call, just as the lady turns up, saying she's come to look after her son. David and Jason accompany Gail and Tina as the police take them to the Lake District to identify the body. The neighbours are shocked to hear the news. Dev and Sunita are alarmed when Grishma and Upma decide to stay a week longer. Trevor tells Janice he found two kittens in a bin. Janice agrees to let him keep them in the flat. Leanne's amused, knowing that Janice is allergic to cats. Anna cries as Gary and Quinny leave to complete their training, worried that her son may meet a similar fate to Quinny's brother. Janice struggles to control her sneezing in front of Trevor at the kittens which he names Pernod and Black. Gail and Tina enter the mortuary and are overcome with grief at the sight of Joe's body. Jackie decides she doesn't like Connie and is going to give Molly a piece of her mind. Tina sings the lullaby that Joe used to sing to her before breaking down.
