Plot[]

Part One: Eileen takes the mickey out of Jesse for saying there isn't enough room at No.11 and dismisses his act when he calls it a proper business. Gail apologises to Audrey. Nick hasn't replied to the two messages she's left him. It's Tina's birthday. She wonders if Joe hasn't contacted her because of Rick. Grishma tells Upma she looked in the main bedroom and saw the blow-up bed. They wonder what's going on between Dev and Sunita. David gives Tina a present of perfume. Back at work, Norris thinks she's fussing too much over her dad. Tina tells David if she doesn't hear from Joe on her birthday then she'll know there's something seriously wrong. Leanne tells Carla that Peter is finding the rehab place difficult to cope with. Jesse places £10 on a horse. Grishma and Upma quiz Dev about the state of his marriage but he evades answering them. Jesse's horse wins and he places the money on another horse. David texts Tina from Joe's phone wishing her a happy birthday. She's relieved to read it. Mary invites Norris out for a drink and Tina mischievously pushes him into accepting. Motorboats disturb the tranquillity of Lake Windermere.

Part Two: Jason gets jealous when he finds out about the gift of the perfume. Jesse tells Eileen the second horse has won, and he's put it on a third horse. She's scornful of his chances. Grishma and Upma turn their questions on Sunita who tells them that Dev's got a bad back and he finds the camp bed more comfortable. Jesse's horse starts the race at the back. Tina tells Gail she's had a text from Joe. Gail's delighted and relieved, thinking he must still be alive. Jesse's horse comes in and he wins £3,856.50. Eileen's thrilled. Dev is starting to find the aunts' presence a strain and Sunita agrees to him staying at his flat for a couple of nights. Their relationship starts to thaw. David watches across the Rovers' bar as Tina and Jason celebrate her birthday and their engagement. Having heard nothing aside from the text, Tina tells David she's going to Cumbria and find her dad. He orders a bunch of flowers in Joe's name. Gail excitedly tells David about the text from Joe, but he quickly explains how he sent it to put Tina off the scent. Gail's bitterly disappointed and fretful as to where he's gone. In the darkness, Joe's body floats to the surface of the lake.

  • The scenes at 7 Meadow View, Bramhall were recorded at 7 Godfrey Road, Salford while the shot of Joe McIntyre's body resurfacing was recorded near to the shoreline of the Wyke Bay holiday cottage in the grounds of the Pullwood Bay estate on Lake Windermere.
