Plot[]
Part One: At dawn, Gail wakes up with a start on the cottage sofa. She looks out over the lake desperately hoping to see Joe but there's no sign, nor any answer on his phone. Peter once more wakes up hung-over. He apologises to Leanne for going on another bender and promises to sort himself out. She's sceptical. Still unable to see Joe on the water, Gail phones David and insists he catches a train up to the Lakes as soon as possible. He's worried, sensing the panic in her voice. She tries to remain calm when Anka Grabowski, the cleaner arrives at the cottage. Gail claims Joe has gone for a walk on his own. Peter starts drinking again whilst working in the bookies. David arrives in the Lakes and a distraught Gail tells him the whole story. Jason tells Eileen he's taking Tina for a romantic dinner for Valentine's Day. A terrified Gail admits she doesn't know what to do.
Part Two: David reckons they should go to the police with the truth, but Gail refuses as she wants to wait and hope that Joe comes to his senses. He thinks his mother has married another headcase. Sunita tells Dev her great aunts Grishma and Upma are coming over from India to stay on Saturday, but the problem is that they still think she's married to Dev and she doesn't want to upset them. He doesn't want to be part of any deception. Gail and David spot the abandoned Gail Force on the water. She insists they retrieve it. George calls into the bookies and tells Peter that Simon wants to know when he can see his dad. He sees that Peter has been drinking again and doesn't think his son should see him in that state. George and Peter row. David steals a motorboat. Leanne sees Peter's state. She tells him that he seriously needs help, and she agrees with George that he shouldn't see Simon. Gail and David find the boat empty with no dinghy and Joe's phone left behind. She insists they tow the boat back. Ken and Leanne agree they've got to get Peter into rehab. With Joe's boat tied up, David sets the motorboat adrift. Gail insists on spending another night in the cottage in the hope Joe might return. David thinks she's crazy but has no choice but to stay with her.
