Plot[]
Part One: Annie tries on Lucille's football hat and scarf. Jack tries to get her seats in the stand at Maine Road but she refuses, wanting to study the crowd's behaviour from the terraces. Irma returns to work. David thinks she's getting better but Val has her doubts. A hobbling Ena advises Dennis to check the source of Wally's £70 by asking Arnold Tanner about it. Wally cheers Irma up with compliments. Val makes it clear to David that she has doubts that Irma is better. Jack tries to bribe Stan, Jerry and Len with a free pint into letting Annie go the match with them. After refusing, Len is tempted for the sake of having the experience. Annie confiscates Stan's toilet roll before they go. Dennis tells Minnie he's visited his father and discovered the £70 is back-rent that Wally owes him and Norah, and that his health is perfect. Wally tells Dennis he's bought the headstone for £60 and gives him the other £10 for rent. Annie causes trouble on the bus when she acts high and mighty with a man. The menfolk wonder what they've let themselves in for.
Part Two: Arriving near Maine Road, Annie insists they go to the rougher ends of the stands. Irma tells David that the miscarriage has scared her and she doesn't want another baby. Annie thoroughly enjoys the match. Dennis tells Minnie that Wally is staying. She dreads reporting the news back to Ena. Jack tells Ena that Minnie hasn't been running round doing her errands all day, but has spent some of her time in the Rovers. When she confronts her friend, Minnie loses her temper with her and calls her a haybag. On the way home, Annie objects to stopping off for fish and chips and waits outside The Friary chip shop for the others. When passing rival supporters, George Naylor and Lenny Johnson, slag City off, Annie retaliates in kind. Ken suggests adoption to an interested David. The two men insult Annie and swing their rattles in her face. She snatches them and throws them away but they smash through the window of a shoe repair shop. They are all arrested by a passing policewoman. Lucille and the menfolk are amused as Annie is led away.
