Plot[]
Part One: Ken demands to know from Peter what he's up to. His half-cut son tells him and Leanne that he's proving a point and is in control of himself. Leanne begs Ken to take Peter home. Joe assures Tina he's worked out a plan to deal with Rick but she isn't impressed, saying he has a history of making bad decisions. She walks out of the house as her father begins yelling at her. Ciaran tries to get Peter out of the bar, only to find it's a ruse by Ken to try and get him home. Peter is furious at the deception and goes back inside. Betty frets that she's poisoned Enid. Peter rows with Leanne and makes a fool of himself in front of everyone including the local press. He bars Ken when he calls him a pathetic drunkard and pushes Ciaran to the floor when he tries to ease him out of the building. Leanne cries as the press and party invitees walk out.
Part Two: Peter has scarpered, and Leanne and the others begin to clear up the mess. Leanne declares the new bar is now officially closed before it ever actually opened. George and Eve are shocked at Peter's behaviour and offer to look after Simon for the night. Leanne's grateful. Hayley arrives in the Rovers in a state of excitement having enjoyed her salsa class. Becky tells her and Roy about her pregnancy. Joe tells Gail that he's managed to bring the trip forward to Monday and insists she books the time off work. Liz and Betty are relieved to hear that Enid is blaming her food poisoning on the amount she drank and not the hotpot. An excited Steve makes Liz tell Betty about the pregnancy. Leanne finds the flat empty. She refuses George's offer to be with her for when Peter returns. Steve finds out that Becky has told Hayley and Roy at the same time that Betty yells out her congratulations to Becky across the bar. A happy Liz laughs, thinking Steve and Becky are both being daft. Joe calls on Tina to apologise to her and tell her about the trip to the Lake District. He hugs his daughter, so that she doesn't see his tears, and tells her that he loves her. Peter arrives home drunk. Leanne sobs as she tells him the bar wasn't a good idea and it's finished. She tells him he's an alcoholic and he needs help.
