Plot[]
Part One: Liz lambasts Steve for his drunken state the previous night. Becky has gone out but Liz doesn't know where to. Leanne gets annoyed as her preparations for the joinery hard-hat party start to go awry. She and Peter plan to eat at a rival restaurant in Manchester and see how it's run. Sally is tired out and sleeping heavily as a result of her treatment. Janice puts an advert for a lodger in The Kabin window. Ken tries to talk Peter out of sending Simon to Oakhill School but he's disappointed when Peter tells him that he's already told the Bessie Street headmaster that his son's leaving. Becky blurts out to a shocked Claire that she's pregnant. With Betty's 90th birthday approaching, Liz contacts the Gazette about doing an article on the oldest barmaid in the region. Steve won't tell his mother why he's in a bad mood. Becky admits to Claire that she's not sure if she wants a baby. Claire tells her that despite all the problems she had having Freddie, it's the best thing she ever did and that Becky must be sure before she does something she might regret.
Part Two: Leanne and Peter have their lunch but are annoyed with the restaurant's slow service. They see the chef arguing with the manager and see that it's Ciaran McCarthy. Tyrone and Molly have civilised words when they bump into each other. Ciaran tells the manager to stick his job and sits down with Peter and Leanne to reminisce about old times. Both Tyrone and Molly independently call to see Sally. Kevin's not thrilled to see either of them. Ciaran tries to buy Peter a pint, but his friend refuses without saying why. There's an awkward atmosphere in No.4 between the Dobbs. Kevin is cold towards Molly as she leaves. Janice admits to Sean and Julie that she hasn't liked any of the applicants for her advert. Betty is interviewed by a reporter. Peter brings Ciaran back to the Rovers where he's instantly struck with Michelle. Steve tells Becky how thrilled he is about her pregnancy, but Becky admits that although she loves him, she hasn't changed her mind about wanting a baby. Ciaran uses his cheesy chat-up lines on an unimpressed Michelle. Janice gets a call from a man wanting to see her room. Peter admits to Ciaran that he's a recovering alcoholic. Becky admits she has no confidence in her ability to be a good mother and is hurt when Steve wonders aloud why she didn't abort the child behind his back.
