Plot[]
Part One: Kevin and Sally are relieved when the consultant tells them that the lumpectomy appears to have removed all the cancer, although Sally will still need to have radiotherapy and hormone therapy treatment for four or five weeks. Vinnie comes to collect Sian. As Sophie tells him off for being impatient to be gone, his daughter says an emotional goodbye to Ryan and leaves for Southport. Fiz fusses over what to give Tyrone for his tea. Sunita calls to collect Aadi and Alahan after Dev took them to appear in the school play. She tells Dev that she has news to tell him later. At Fiz's insistence, John checks with Tyrone that he's not turned vegetarian. Sally's delighted to tell Rosie and Sophie the happy news. Kevin tells his wife that he could never imagine living without him. Mary insists that a shattered Norris needs a few days off work. John insists that no one will question Tyrone about his marriage when he comes round. Rosie and Sophie ask Kevin if he wants company when Sally rests, but he tells his daughters to go out.
Part Two: Sunita tells Dev that she's called off her engagement and broken up with Matt. He can barely conceal his delight. Mary promises to run The Kabin for Norris in his absence. He begrudgingly agrees. In the Rovers, Bill tells Joe he won't give him cash upfront as it's not standard business practice. Tyrone tries to get out of having his tea with the Stapes but they make him stay. He blurts out that he has no idea why Molly left him. Bill catches Joe counting the cash from the cancer collection jar in the Rovers. He's appalled and Joe tries to deny his actions, saying he merely knocked it over. Walking out in anger, he encounters Rick who demands his money. Joe runs off and Rick and his sidekick give chase down the ginnel. Joe manages to lose his pursuers and hides in the yard at No.5, a terrified man. Dev celebrates his good news. Joe makes it back to No.8, claiming his dirty clothes are due to a fall. Pam spells it out to Molly that she's lost Kevin for good and she'd be better off making a go of her marriage, but Molly remains in denial. Sophie returns from her church youth club and tells Kevin she said a prayer for Sally. He's angry and says that God did nothing for her mother. Sophie runs from the house. David sees Joe looking up ferry crossings. He tells Gail that he's just dreaming of getting away.
