Plot[]
Part One: The day of Joe and Gail's wedding arrives. Joe is distracted as he irons his trousers. At the salon, Audrey and David have done Gail's hair. Nick joins them and Gail asks him to be the ringbearer. David is jealous. Tyrone puts off telling Kevin about his new job. Norris gets a postcard from Rita. Freda shows him their picture in a magazine following their competition win. Prior to setting off, Ted thanks Joe for giving him the opportunity to give his daughter away at her wedding. Nick complements Tina on how she looks in her wedding outfit before he drives Joe to the register office. Tina's furious when Jason tells her that he can't attend as Bill's called him in to begin the conversion work at Turners Joinery. Gail and Ted leave for the ceremony to cheers and back-handed compliments from the neighbours.
Part Two: Still at daggers' drawn, Steve and Becky decorate the Rovers for the reception. Liz orders her son to sort matters out between them. Joe worries as Gail's late and is delighted when she walks in, looking radiant. Ken's annoyed to see that work at the joinery has begun when planning permission hasn't yet been granted and insinuates that a deal has been made outside of the regulations. He tells George and Peter that he will be at the planning meeting later. Deirdre's sick of the matter. Peter finds out that Ken knows about the private school offer. Ted walks Gail up the aisle. Carla refuses the Underworld staff any time off until they complete the latest order, including Kelly who wanted to go to a family wedding. Joe and Gail say their vows. Tyrone plucks up the courage to tell Kevin that he's leaving to join Hobson's. At first, he's outraged but makes out that he's more understanding when it becomes clear that Molly is happy with the decision. Janice says Kelly should have pulled a sickie like Sally does. Norris is pleased when Freda tells him she's going to use her half of the winnings as a deposit on a flat and, this time next week, she'll be out of his hair. In her motorhome, Mary Taylor angrily draws across Freda's face in the magazine picture. Rick arrives at the Rovers' reception ahead of the wedding party, saying he's a friend of Joe. The newlyweds are declared to be husband and wife.
