Plot[]
Part One: Gail tries to look positively on the fall through of the house sale but Joe finds it hard to be optimistic. She gives him money to shop for shoes. Bill calls to see Kevin and is told that Sally's lumpectomy will take place next Friday but further surgery will have to take place if it's unsuccessful. Kevin tries to hold back his tears as he tells Bill that Rosie and Sophie still don't know. Dev hands the twins back to Sunita in a boisterous mood after their day out. He assures her that he will continue to be a proper father to them. Becky and Claire to go out to the cinema. Putting the twins in Matt's car, Dev reveals that he has split with Bernie. Gail tells Kevin that Sally is invited to the Rovers for a hen drink but he makes excuses on her behalf. Joe rants at the estate agent for not trying hard enough to sell the house. Steve calls to see Ashley with a crate of booze. Seeing Tina going towards the Rovers, Rick follows her.
Part Two: In the pub. Rick eavesdrops on Tina's conversation and expresses an interest in buying No.12. She takes him to view the flat. Kevin cooks a meal for Sally. He tries to look at the future optimistically. Joe learns from Gail that Tina is alone with Rick in the flat. He races round to check on her, but finds his daughter blissfully unaware of the threat that she is under. Getting her out of the way, Joe finds out from Rick that he knows that Tina is about to come into some money from the flat sale and he's after that. Steve proceeds to get roaring drunk while pouring out his troubles to Ashley, saying that women ride roughshod over them both. Killing a call from Liz, he admits that he still loves Becky to bits. Joe drowns his sorrows in The Flying Horse. Liz summons Becky home from their night out to sort out Amy who is upset after a nightmare. Becky is furious that Steve isn't around. Sophie finds her dad alone and drinking when she comes in after a night out. Steve sneaks into the pub through the back door. He's in a drunken stupor and receives a tongue-lashing from Becky. He stands his ground, and she tells him to find somewhere else to sleep. Rick collars Joe as he returns home, takes the remaining £70 for the shoes out of his wallet and threatens to go after Tina instead of him. Joe breaks down in tears.
