Plot[]
Part One: Sarah rings Gail to say that she won't be coming to the wedding as Bethany's got chickenpox. Gail insists that Joe buys new shoes for the wedding. He frets as he ignores calls from Rick. Sally tries to keep her mind off her health by taking down the Christmas decorations, even though she has a hospital appointment that afternoon. Relations remain frosty between Steve and Becky. Liz is concerned about the effect on Amy and orders her son to sort matters out. Audrey avoids telling Gail who she went out with as she does her daughter's hair, and tells her that she's booked her and Joe a honeymoon in the Lake District. Joe is alarmed when he sees Rick knocking on No.8's door and seeks refuge in The Kabin. Molly encourages a Tyrone to go for a job interview at Hobson's. He reluctantly agrees. Rick sees Joe going into No.12 to fix some cupboards at Tina 's request.
Part Two: Molly is delighted when Tyrone is given an interview at 4.00pm that day. He swears her to silence. Dev is happy when Sunita agrees he can take the twins out. Talking to Roy and Hayley, Becky remains adamant she's not having children. Fiz signs Ken's petition against the bar. Trying to keep the peace, Peter invites him to collect Simon from school with him. Ken's grateful. Rick watches as Joe and Tina emerge from No.12 and catches up with Joe when he goes alone into No.8. He demands £4,000 today, or else he will take unspecified action against Tina. Janice and Kelly try to find out from Hayley why Sally has been given more time off work. Tyrone claims he has a dentist's appointment when Kevin finishes early to accompany his wife. Peter, Ken and George all collect Simon from school. Peter allows Simon to go to Ken's for his tea. Steve tells Roy to mind his own business when he tries to talk to him about Becky. Liz tells Becky that Amy is behaving because she thinks it will stop her and Steve fighting. Steve accuses Becky of whining to Roy. George asks Peter to consider sending Simon to a private school in Cheshire at his expense. Peter insists his son is happy at Bessie Street. Becky leaves on a whim to go out for the evening. Joe's angry when the bank refuses to extend his overdraft. He's further horrified when Gail takes a call to say that the sale of the house has fallen through.
