Plot[]
Part One: Steve is deliberately harsh and cold with Becky, saying that she's of little use to him. Audrey refuses to tell Gail who she's going to the dinner with. Tyrone returns after a long time on the complicated call-out. Molly is intrigued to hear that the customer offered him a job at her brother's garage business in Chester and thinks it's worth following up. She tells him that he should stop letting Kevin treat him like an errand boy and assert his authority as a business partner. Ignoring the fact that he's due to work behind the bar, Steve goes out with Lloyd. Pam wonders if Bill is keeping something secret from her. Dev returns on a high from his visit to Sunita's, saying he's realised that what he wants more than anything is get back with her and be a family again. A nervous Audrey begins to leave a message on Lewis's phone that she's cancelling due to a migraine when he rings the doorbell. She tries to get out of their arrangement, but he assures her that her nerves are understandable. Tyrone is reluctant to go to the Rovers, worried that Kevin might be there, but Molly insists they go out. Audrey soon starts to relax in Lewis's company. Becky calls on Roy and Hayley and tells them about her marital problems and how she doesn't want children. She wishes she still lived with them.
Part Two: Liz is angry with Steve for going awol. Tyrone is nervous when he sees Kevin with Bill and Pam in the pub as he feels disloyal. Kevin refuses to let Bill tell Pam about Sally's cancer. Audrey enjoys telling Lewis about Alf on the eleventh anniversary of his death. Lewis thinks they should get a cab and try and make the dinner but she refuses to consider using Street Cars. Molly tries to make Dev see that Sunita is happily engaged. Kevin lies when Gail asks him if Sally is okay. Liz tears into Steve when he returns, saying that Betty was left to cope behind the bar on her own. Roy and Hayley refuses to let Becky stay over, saying the right thing is to return to Steve and sort matters out. Steve is about to lock up when his wife returns. She tells him that he's sleeping on the sofa tonight, but he refuses to comply. He's unsympathetic when she tells him how she's struggling and says he thinks they rushed into their marriage. Behind her back, he struggles to cope with their rowing. Audrey calls in at No.8 on the way home from the dinner. She's feeling tipsy but expansive and offers to pay for Joe and Gail's honeymoon as a wedding present. She's amused but delighted. Becky sleeps on the sofa.
