Plot

As a devastated Jason tries to come to terms with being dumped, Becky heads over to the Rovers to see Steve. Steve is convinced she's turned up to have another go at him, and so is stunned when he notices that she's not wearing Jason's ring. Realising that she's giving him a second chance, he goes down on one knee and proposes.

The news quickly spreads and it reaches the ears of a Michelle who doesn't take it too well. Liz and Steve can only stand and watch as the two women almost come to blows.

Len tries to play the nice guy and seeks out Ted to talk about their 'family problems'. Canny Ted is not taken in by petty crook Len but Tina is still scared of him and is worried when he tells her that if she doesn't stay away from the trial, things will be bad for Ted.

Sally is mystified at Sophie's decision to join the Christian Youth Club but Kevin is pleased that their youngest daughter is not following the 'example' set by her sister Rosie and is immediately supportive, much to Sophie's delight.

Julie chides the factory girls for skiving and they are bemused at her behaviour, prompting her to confide in an incredulous Fiz that unless she finds someone for Tony to sack, she's out on her ear.

Elsewhere, Deirdre invites Liz and Lloyd for dinner with her and Ken when he returns tomorrow.
