Plot[]
Part One: Annie prepares for her trip to Paris and has Jack and Lucille running round. She considers herself an ambassador as she's getting an escort from "Cutie-Beauty" Cosmetics. Dot tries to pick out a wedding outfit for Elsie from Modes. Dennis writes to his mum saying his plans have changed and he'll see her soon. She worries that a wedding is in the offing. Steve makes a curry dinner as a surprise for Elsie. Jack shuts Annie up by pretending to be jealous of the French film star she'll be meeting. Dennis returns from Sweden. Elsie and Steve return home and find him happily devouring Elsie's curry.
Part Two: A depressed Hilda goes to the park to look at the ducks. Elsie's amazed when Dennis's girlfriend arrives at No.11 - Karen Olsen, Inga's sister. Dennis dismisses his previous relationship as an infatuation and declares that this is real love. Karen is also an au pair but doesn't seem to enjoy it. Annie confides in Ken that her French isn't very good and asks him how to ask where the bathroom is. She's scandalised when he tells her that the bathrooms in France are mixed. Hilda wants to rip up the paving stones and make a garden at No.13 but Stan thinks it's a daft idea. He fails to notice how subdued his wife is. Workshy Karen nearly quits her job on the first day. Annie is driven off in a chauffeur-driven limousine. The residents turn out to see her off. She goes off without her passport and Jack has to stop the limo to give it to her.

Notes[]
- The scene of Annie Walker setting off in a chauffeur-driven limousine for a trip to Paris was not shot on the usual set but on location. This meant that the frontage of a real pub stood in for the Rovers Return Inn and consequently bore little resemblance to that usually shown in the programme. The pub used was "The Amalgamated Inn" which stood on the corner of Clifton Street and Gloucester Street in Ordsall about half a mile north of Archie Street which was used as the template for the design of the Coronation Street set. The pub had previously stood in for location shots of the Rovers in Episode 389 (2nd September 1964). It closed in 1970 and was demolished in 1971.
- This episode carries no cast credits, only production credits.
- TV Times: No synopsis appeared in the magazine between Episode 678 (14th June 1967) and Episode 701 (4th September 1967)
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast - 6,700,000 homes (2nd place).
