Plot
Vernon pours his heart and soul into a love letter in a last ditch attempt to win Liz back. Norris is horrified having discovered weevils in the bread-bin at Emily's house. Rosie's upset neither Kevin or Sally believe her story about John. Sophie's annoyed they can't afford for her to go on the school skiing trip. Kevin's at his wits' end and wonders if he should sell the business to Tony after all. Clarissa finds out that Harry's lied to her and didn't spend the evening with his accountant at all. She tells Harry she's got a headache and won't be able to attend the ball that night. Leanne and Janice think of ways to cash the lottery cheque without getting caught. Janice goes to see an old mate of Les's and pays him £150 for a fake ID. Harry invites Liz to the ball in Clarissa's place. He tells her it's time they went public and he wants to show her off to all his friends. Liz is ecstatic. Kevin's cross with Tyrone for skiving off work. Tyrone explains how he's been ill as a result of some medical trials. Bill suggests that Kevin should make Tyrone a partner in the business to give him an incentive. Julie continues to go on about John and how Fiz must be broken-hearted. Fiz is clearly irritated by her. Clarissa makes a miraculous recovery telling Harry that she will go to the ball after all.
