Plot

Violet and Jamie are totally loved up but agree to keep it a secret until they tell Sean. Meanwhile, Sean’s psyching himself up to speak to Violet about his decision to be a dad to the baby and not just the donor.

However, when they all meet for a drink that evening, Jamie and Violet get in there first with their announcement, telling an unhappy Sean that he can relax now knowing that the baby will have a dad and a proper family. Sean’s aware how this affects his chance of being a father to the baby, and makes his excuses before rushing out of the pub.

Claire’s nervous at the singles night and ends up getting very drunk while Lloyd leaves with a girl. After confiding in Sally about where she was going, she calls her. Sally's busy with her lesson with John, so she sends Kevin to pick Claire up.

As Kevin arrives, an inebriated Claire calls him her knight in shining armour before clumsily attempting to kiss him. As they arrive back on the street, she’s sobered up enough to be mortified. As Ashley opens the door to her she breaks down in his arms. Claire reveals to a startled Ashley that she tried to kiss his best mate, before telling him that she still loves him.

Liam arrives back and everyone’s pleased to see him, not least Carla who has clearly missed having him in the factory. However, she appears slightly put out when she arrives at the pub to see how happy Liam is with Maria, who is delighted to have been showered with gifts once again.

Elsewhere, tensions are starting to show between Liz and Michelle in the overcrowded pub, and Fiz’s suspicions about John and Sally rub off on Kevin.
