Plot
Deirdre's sick with worry knowing she'll be called as a witness today. Liam introduces two new Polish workers to the factory girls, Kasia and Judy. Janice is unfriendly and rude to them and suggests to Joanne they might be illegal immigrants. Joanne's quick to defend them. David takes the witness stand but he comes across as cocky and insincere and fails to endear himself to the jury. Tracy's worried. The usher calls Deirdre to take the witness stand but she has a panic attack and says she can't go through with it. Ken tries to calm her down. Deirdre eventually stands up in court. She tries to lie for her daughter but it's obvious she's hiding the truth. The jury are unimpressed and Tracy's furious. Deirdre tells Tracy's solicitor that Tracy's lying and so is David and that Tracy planned Charlie's murder. Carla asks Leanne about her property job but Leanne manages to sidestep the question. Tracy's appalled at Deirdre for letting her down telling her that it'll be her fault when she's sent to prison. Peter and Blanche agree. Deirdre breaks down.
