Plot[]
Part One: Elsie bounces back from her ordeal. Moira Maxwell isn't prosecuted as she's found to be mentally unfit. Minnie tells Ena she had no right to ask Annie for money. Annie has an about-turn and decides that she should compensate Minnie for the cameo brooch. Linda misses Ivan with him house-hunting in Birmingham. Hilda asks Dennis to find her a brooch like Annie's. He offers to get her an imitation. At Bessie Street School, Miss Horrocks can't get Paul to play with the other children. Minnie refuses £5 from Annie as the brooch is her property. Dennis borrows the ornament from Lucille to compare it with some others. Minnie makes Ena promise to abide by her decision before entering the Rovers. Desperate to ease her conscience, Annie gets Ken to referee the dispute. He rules that the brooch is hers, morally and legally, and she owes Minnie nothing.
Part Two: Linda worries that Paul has become spoilt. Dennis sells Hilda a plastic cameo. Annie discovers her brooch is missing and assumes Hilda has taken it. She takes it as read when she confronts Hilda and sees her wearing her own brooch on her blouse. Lucille intervenes and returns the brooch before Annie gets round to accusing her. Annie gives Ena £4 to give to Minnie. Ena tricks Minnie into accepting it by making out she left her coal money with her and forgot to ask for it back. Ivan calls to say he's found a house in Selly Park. Linda thinks Paul is moody as he's missing his dad. She feels Birmingham will be a good move for the family. Elsie goes to collect Paul from school only to discover he's not there.
