Plot[]

Part One: Len doesn't mention his nomination to Annie. Elsie agrees to let him use No.11 as a committee room but thinks he's mad to stand for the council when he knows nothing about politics. Jack gets Jerry to stay for tea to help him tell Annie about Len but Jerry leaves when he goes to put the kettle on. Annie is shocked to find out that Len is standing against her as an independent candidate. Elsie feeds Harry Bishop a pack of lies and gives her bribe money to Sheila. Val has the cold so she and Ken have to pull out of a caravan weekend with David and Irma. Hilda fancies going herself but Stan isn't keen as they'll be miles from the nearest pub. Annie doesn't expect much competition from Len. Hilda tells Irma that Stan can't get the time off to go to the caravan to trick her into saying she'd have invited them, and then "remembering" that he has holidays owed to him. Annie gives Len a drink on the house at the Rovers to show that there are no hard feelings.

Part Two: David looks forward to getting some time alone with Irma and is horrified when she says her parents are going as well. The Barlows and Ogdens set off for the caravan in an isolated field. Albert agrees to nominate Annie to give her enough names to stand. Elsie advises Jerry to cut down on his visits to No.11. Stan and David get lost whilst trying to find a pub, leaving the women alone in the caravan. Hilda worries about her safety when the men haven't returned by midnight.
