Plot[]
Part One: Jerry uses himself as an example to show Sheila that people can bounce back, all they need is a good friend and he can be that to her. He assures her that he doesn't judge her for having an illegitimate child. She's relieved and decides not to leave. The men test each other for the quiz. Annie refuses to allow Jack the time off for the match so he gives up his ticket to Jed. The Walkers worry when Lucille fails to come home after work. The Barlows view the caravan and agree to buy it. Hilda longs to go away with Stan. Annie asks around after Lucille and finds out about the bust-up with Bet from Sheila. Panic sets in when Ruth tells her that Lucille didn't show up for a date with her boyfriend. Ena sees a light on in the factory. Len and Annie investigate, disturbing Bet and Jack Benjamin.
Part Two: Annie leaves when she sees that Lucille isn't there. When Benjamin refuses to cooperate, Len threatens to report him for not running the factory properly. Benjamin goes for him but the Barlow brothers arrive and he backs down. At bedtime, Lucille is still missing. Jack is about to phone the police when Denise Bolton brings Lucille home, confessing that she was scared to face Annie; she thought she would judge her for getting into a fight. Annie's relieved but advises Lucille to ask herself if she's doing what she wants with her life. Len tells Ruth he fancies her and wants to take her out. She tells him she's frightened of his reputation. He asks where her spirit of adventure is.
