Plot[]
Part One: The heavies catch up with Dennis at the betting shop. Elsie can't help but miss Wally. Len's fed up with Jerry blowing hot and cold due to his relationship problems. The heavies, Sid and Geordie, demand £95 from Dennis to repay their boss in Carlisle. They give him a week to come up with the money after which they'll come to collect. Jerry fixes up the mission after the disco. Ruth advises him to find out what's going on with Sheila before he loses her, confiding a setback in her own love life. Ena thinks she owes her good health to Ruth and sees her in a new light. Sheila defends Jerry when Val asks about their set-to. Jed tells Elsie about Dennis and the heavies. She frets as she realises he was telling the truth all along. Dave offers his help to Dennis.
Part Two: Ena reminds Jerry that he's a married man. He tells her to keep her opinions to herself. Dennis is cavalier about the £95 now that Dave is coming to his rescue. Ena realises she's outstayed her welcome at Len's and asks Ruth if she can return to the mission. Ruth agrees. Dave gets Elsie reminiscing about their date in Blackpool before telling her that she can have everything he promised her then. She's sickened when he makes her becoming his mistress a condition of him helping Dennis. She tells him she isn't for sale and he angrily walks out, letting Dennis know that his mum's fixed him up good and proper.
