Karen's new sofa is still wedged in the hallway. Vik and Steve try to shift it but can't. Jules Robinson and Kerry Fletcher confess to Les that they haven't any money and can't pay him any rent but they promise him a "Sydney sandwich" by way of a thank-you. Les is very excited. Emily and Rita take the mickey out of Norris saying they've not seen him on the TV yet. Maria is still in bed with Nick when Audrey calls round unexpectedly. She is furious with both of them. Toyah again tries to warn Maria away from Nick. Deirdre arrives home and feels guilty that she wasn't there for Blanche when she had her accident. Blanche is disappointed when she gets her copy of the Gazette to find that Hermione Fairfax, the romance and passion writer is off ill and therefore the latest instalment of Slaves to their Passion isn't included. Les gets all dressed up for his "Sydney Sandwich". He is hugely disappointed when he finds out that the Sydney Sandwich is baguette containing kangaroo meat. Kevin and Sally have a long chat and they agree that Kevin will move in after all but will sleep on a sofa bed in the front room. Rosie and Sophie are delighted.
