Plot[]
Part One: Ena wishes that Jerry would find some happiness in his life. David hopes he'll be allowed to stay on at Weatherfield Athletic as coach and social club manager as he takes home £20 a week just from those. Lionel cuts down on credit at the shop. Irma's puzzled by the new system, with exceptions for valued customers. Emily decides to use her camera for child portraits. Ken tries to cheer David up by saying how much he enjoys teaching even though it's not the career path he wanted. Ena receives a large parcel. Jerry helps her move it into the vestry but she swears him to secrecy over the contents, inviting Minnie and Clara to visit later to see what it is.
Part Two: Emily does a photoshoot with Ken, Val and the twins. They have to do it twice as she forgets to turn the film on. Minnie and Clara discover that Ena's delivery is a rocking chair from her brother Tom in America. Minnie eagerly tries it out. David still wants to buy the house but Irma doesn't want to scrimp and save. The locals puzzle at Emily taking up photography. Sid Lambert tells David he's entitled to £300 compensation but he can't stay on at the club - they need that job free to attract a new player/coach. He's shown a clause in his contract explaining that the club job goes with the football one.
