Plot[]
Part One: Ted thinks he's brought Albert bad luck. David puts it down to subsidence. Albert notes that the old Barton Colliery ran underneath the house and goes to check if the neighbours felt anything. He doesn't know who to report the tremors to. Annie thinks Ted bumped into the sideboard while drunk and is covering. Jerry worries that Len needs a partner as the business is in trouble and makes him draw up a legal agreement. Hilda sees a wedding in her tea leaves. Dennis uses his novelties to play pranks on Elsie. Hilda hears about the tremors from David and becomes convinced that Ted brought a poltergeist to the house with him.
Part Two: Barry asks Lucille to go to a party with him. When the other girls invite themselves, she accepts. Len discovers Albert's floorboards have cracked. David considers moving into a high rise with Irma once they're married, thinking they're the homes of the future. Ken calls it living like a factory hen. Elliston's Raincoat Factory changes into manufacturing PVC. Hilda doesn't think the floorboards explain everything as Albert's pictures fell from the walls. Elsie prepares for a holiday in Morecambe, determined to enjoy herself. Mr Charlesworth, the supervisor at the OAP home, arrives to persuade Ted to come home. Albert tells him he is home, and he's staying there for good.
