Plot[]
Jack prepares for the bowls final. The men are desperate to curb the smell from No.5 as the neighours are talking. The Barlows turn their front room into a playroom for the twins. Minnie is puzzled as to why tonic water is producing froth. Stan samples the merchandise and is decidedly unimpressed. Bobby won't come home because of the odour. Elsie wisens up to Dennis's party tricks. Stan and Charlie blame the smell on herbs. Stan sniffs the beer at the Rovers to compare. Annie derides Jack for thinking he stands a chance of winning as he sets off, with Albert going along to spectate. Stan and Charlie blame the bad taste on not siphoning off the beer and go back to perfect it. Jerry returns and calls in at the yard. After some strained small talk, Len makes him admit that the Blackburn job folded and Piggott has laid him off. Len wishes him well, ignoring his enquiry about coming back to work for him. Stan bottles the beer. Val thinks that Jerry's in dire straits but he's too proud to ask for help. Len doesn't see why he should offer Jerry work after Jerry stabbed him in the back. Elsie encourages him to forgive and forget. Annie assumes Jack didn't do well when he arrives home and doesn't immediately say how he got on. The regulars celebrate when Albert walks in with the cup. Jerry sleeps rough in the yard.
