Plot[]
Peter and Susan come home. No.9 is awash with visitors as the neighbours come over for a look at them. With the weather getting better, Hilda thinks about having the house done up. Lucille needs more old men for her scheme. Ena retrims Minnie's hat. Irma makes a home delivery to butter Ena up. The pensioner returns the favour by offering to do any stitching for her, if she wants to impress someone. A desperate Lucille returns to Albert. Albert tells her she's having difficulties because she doesn't have enough tact. She's handed a load of old socks with holes in them when she offers to help him with anything he needs. David rolls up outside No.9 in a taxi. He can't drive with his injury and is thinking of selling his car. At Gerard's Salon, Dennis is teased by posh customers Caroline Critchley and Jane Maxwell. David is cagey about how long he's staying. He arranges a date with Irma after unpacking at No.1. Albert doesn't like being treated like he's past it. David gives Albert four tickets to the Cup Final at Wembley, plus the fare to London. Ena mends the socks for Lucille, not knowing they're Albert's. David tells Ken he's bored with football and has given it up. Albert gets Stan and Charlie to put money on the table and swaps it for the tickets. As Stan celebrates, Hilda seizes his ticket - he has some jobs to do around the house first.
