Plot[]

Elsie realises she has Dennis to thank for Ena's change of mind. As Dennis basks in her adulation, his home-cooked breakfast burns on the stove, proving that he's still the same old Dennis. Ena uses the phone at the yard to arrange to see Wormold. Jerry continues to focus on his work, giving nothing away. Annie asks for him to see to the Rovers' draught excluders for a chance to question him. Swindley gets his promotion and spends his last day at Gamma Garments. He busies himself making a spring scene for the window as a parting gift and collects materials from the yard. While there, Swindley tells Len that he saw Jerry on the number 64 bus last night, which doesn't go anywhere near Myra's dad's. Len tries to find out where Jerry is living but only angers Jerry with his questions. Swindley promises to promote Emily when he is area manager but she tells him that she doesn't want it - she's happy in the Rosamund Street shop. Working at the Rovers, Jerry tells Annie he's still with Myra and staying at George Dickinson's. Willie Piggott's case is due at the magistrates' court. Ena sells No.11 to Wormold for £350, and gets him to agree to do the repairs for Elsie. Len tells Elsie that Wormold has bought the house and hired him to carry out the repairs. Elsie is taken aback by Wormold's sudden sense of responsibility. Swindley leaves Gamma to return to head office. He's seen off by Emily and Ena, who doesn't give him long before he's replaced by someone younger. Len guesses that Jerry has left Myra.
