Plot
Curly is back from Milton Keynes, having learned a lot. Alf refuses to pay the TV bill of £45.16. He thinks the reason Audrey kept calling Jim out was because of Jim's shoddy work and insists on being there when Jim drops off the set to give him a piece of his mind. An embarrassed Audrey realises Jim will tell him everything and pretends that Jim has been after her. Alf is furious. Jim doesn't like the way his employer Frank Gregson lords it over him. When Alf confronts Jim, he tells him what Audrey's been up to and drops the TV on purpose, breaking it. Gregson agrees to compensate Alf with a new TV and cancels the bill but Alf also wants to sue Jim for personal damages. Deirdre walks out of the Rovers to escape Ken when he invites her for a drink. Gregson can't get hold of Jim. Jim wishes he'd thumped Alf. Vera goes to a spiritualist meeting with her friend Brenda Thornton for a laugh. Ken persists with Deirdre, buying her and Dave drinks. Deirdre decides to divorce Ken as it's the only way to get rid of him. Vera tells Ivy that the medium made contact with someone called Brian.
