Plot

Alec wants to sack Tina, not believing that she was ill. Bet tells him he can't without proof. Deirdre and Tracy return from Blanche Hunt's. Deirdre discovers Ken has been around. Jim promises Liz he'll have a word with Andy but goes drinking instead. Rita tells Deirdre that Ken was interested in No.12. She's relieved to hear he can't afford it. Tina insults Alec in front of the customers. Bet quickly whisks Alec away before he can sack her and says she'll deal with Tina herself. Liz begs Andy not to join up. Bet warns Tina that she could lose her job and laments much she has changed since she met her new boyfriend. Tina doesn't admit any wrongdoing. Jim advises Andy to get 'A' Levels and go to Sandhurst for a better Army career. Tina doesn't turn up for her shift. Ken shows an interest in renting the shop flat. Jim tells Andy he can sign up, much to Liz's shock. Alf rents the flat to Ken.
