Plot[]
Alec is stung by Sandra's rejection but decides to respect her wishes. Audrey thinks Alma is cheapening herself by spending the night with Mike. Bet tries to lift Alec's spirits by suggesting that Sandra may realise she's being hasty but Alec doesn't think so. Alma stuns Audrey and Gail by telling them she's moving in with Mike. Bet goes to Handforth to see Sandra. Ivy urges Don to get a solicitor. Sandra is cold to Bet and tells her she doesn't want the past creeping back like a ghost. Bet defends Alec, explaining that he always cared about her and was just getting on with his life, as she's done. Sandra refuses to listen to her. Emily and Tracy go shopping and see Ken and Wendy together. Alma moves in with Mike but insists on paying her way. Eddie tells Tina the France trip is off as his mum is going into hospital for tests and he has to look after Jamie. Alec guesses that Bet went to see Sandra when she comes home empty-handed from a shopping trip. He accuses her of meddling in his affairs and feels she's destroyed any chances of Sandra changing her mind.
