Plot[]
Gail tries to compose herself. Brian isn't at all nervous. His best man Andy Rowlands has a terrible hangover. Elsie has tonsillitis and can't attend the wedding. Audrey's fella Frank Wilson arrives. Steve enjoys being an usher. Ivy struggles to keep her parents, the Nelsons, in order, Vera struggles to keep Jack Duckworth under control. Albert, Ena, Bet, the Ogdens, Ken, Deirdre and the Duckworths gather at St. Boniface Church, Lower Broughton to watch the wedding. Mike walks Gail down the aisle. Suzie is bridesmaid to Gail. Brian and Gail exchange rings and are married.

- First appearance of Jack Duckworth.
- Eric Spear's closing theme music was replaced on this episode by Felix Mendelssohn's Wedding March played over a freeze-frame shot of the newly-weds walking down the aisle.
- The real-life St. Boniface Church in Lower Broughton was used for filming. Built in 1961, it stood on St. Boniface Road and was demolished at some point after 2012. It was later used for the wedding of Don Brennan and Ivy Tilsley in Episode 2838 (13th June 1988).
