Notes[]
- Final appearance of Margot Bryant as Minnie Caldwell. The actress's failing memory meant that she had to have the script placed in front of her on The Kabin counter and she is both seen to consult it several times and pick it up and walk out of the shop with it at the end of the scene.
- The scene of Ray and Deirdre Langton walking along Weatherfield Canal was recorded at the Rochdale Canal towpath, to the east of Deansgate, Manchester.
- TV Times synopsis: The regulars react to the return of an old friend…
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast - 8,818,000 homes (3rd place). This was the most-watched episode since 18th February 1970.
- The Granada Plus repeat of this episode on 2nd October 1996 was edited down for timing reasons, trimming the opening three scenes in 9 Coronation Street and the Rovers Return by 4", 5" and 11" respectively.
