Notes[]

  • Last appearance of Alec Gilroy until 30th April 1975.
  • The location OB recording of Stan Ogden's visit to Selby Street was recorded in Salford at the northern edge of Ordsall. The gasworks are on West Egerton Street. The road that crosses the picture that the van turns off is Regent Road (named Doyle Street in the episode) when it was a little further north in 1972 than its present site and was a single carriageway and not today's dual carriageway. The van parks on West Craven Street in Ordsall. The white building seen on the right on Regent Road as the van comes to a halt was "The Live and Let Live" public house. Aside from the gasometers and the adjoining wall, none of the structures still exist.
  • TV Times synopsis: Stan calls the tune with his rivals - and Len and Rita are together again.
  • Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast - 6,250,000 homes (10th place).
  • This episode was included in the Network DVD collection Coronation Street: The Best of 1970-1979, released on 25th July 2005.
