Plot[]

Part One: Despite the strained atmosphere at No.13, Jack gives Abi a birthday present and suggests a special tea later on. Kevin grudgingly agrees. Ronnie suggests that Dee-Dee eats some humble pie with Ollie. Abi calls at the hotel and admits to Carl she's dreading her birthday tea and won't be able to be with him. Carl surreptitiously texts James to meet up instead. Theo wants to decorate the flat bedroom and is annoyed when Todd says he's promised Billy he’ll help at the community centre's soup kitchen. Glenda explains to Jenny and Rita how she intends to rig the speed-dating night to ensure that Jenny gets first crack at George. Meanwhile, at the undertakers, George and Christina bond further when they discover that they were once set up on a blind date which didn't come off. Theo turns up at the centre, putting on a show of willing, and is disappointed when Billy pairs him up with Mary rather than Todd. He is interrupted when Danielle rings him for help. When a hotel key card drops out of Abi's pocket, Debbie demands to know where she got it.

Part Two: Abi lies that she once stayed at the hotel is astonished when Carl ruthlessly convinces his sister that her dementia is to blame for not remembering the occasion. Asha and Nina have a catch-up meal at the bistro. At an adjoining table, Danielle thanks Theo for his constant understanding of her grief. He is annoyed when Billy pops in and sees them together. Ronnie tells Debbie there's been a theft on the hotel's first floor and the CCTV isn't working. Dee-Dee has to cancel her Speed Daal meal with Ollie when James texts to say he can't babysit, but Ollie insists she brings Laila along with her. The speed-dating begins and Glenda's draw matches Jenny and George, but Jenny has to go when she gets a call to say that Rita's had a fall. Debbie checks the morning's CCTV footage on which she spots Abi heading towards Carl’s room. Theo returns to the centre, snaps at Todd and Billy when he overhears them talking about him, and heads over to help Mary dismantle the tables. He lets out a yell, having trapped his finger, and smiles when Todd rushes to help him. James leaves Carl's room, just before Debbie arrives and demands to be let in.

Part Three: A livid Debbie accuses Carl of having an affair with Abi, especially when she sees a condom packet on the floor. Carl admits to the affair after his sister threatens to check all the CCTV footage for evidence. Theo storms out of the centre when Mary makes jokes about his injury. Billy is troubled. Ollie plays with Laila and tells Dee-Dee how well he gets on with his young stepsister. Carl tries to excuse his behaviour to Debbie, saying Kevin ended the marriage by lying about his cancer. He claims that he and Abi are serious about each other. A moody Asha drinks too much and Nina suggests they go back to No.7. Theo tells Todd that Billy is always trying to undermine him. He backtracks when Todd starts to get angry. Having helped Rita, Jenny tells her the speed-dating was a bad idea, and she still feels badly about herself and her life. A furious Debbie confronts Abi at No.13. They are interrupted when Kevin and Jack walk in.

Part Four: Debbie tells her brother that Abi shouldn't be living under his roof, but she is unable to reveal the full truth with Jack present. The speed-dating continues with the women paired up with Kirk feeling very dissatisfied. Glenda is thwarted when George ends up with Christina, but he is worried about Rita and leaves to check up on her. Abi meets up with Carl and tells him that Debbie didn't tell all to Kevin. He masks his panic when she says thinks they ought to be upfront about their love. Asha is rude to Nina when she wants to talk about her problems. Nina walks out. Debbie tells Carl to call off his affair. He plays on her sympathies by lying that his relationship with his mother was fractious and calls her bluff by offering to leave Weatherfield. George brings Rita flowers but sees Jenny crying in the street. She lies that Rita had a bad scan result at the hospital to gain his sympathy. Christina sees them hugging from afar. Theo makes excuses when Billy invites him and Todd out for a pint. Debbie is saddened as she looks over old family photographs.
