Plot[]

Part One: Max has made improvements and may be taken off the ventilator today. Toyah assures Sam that the seance candles were snuffed out and not to blame for the fire. Andy calls at the salon looking for David but when Sarah offers to pass on a message, Andy exchanges a look with Todd and leaves. Carla tells Lisa that they’re running the tests to find out if Rob’s kidney is a match and if it is, she’ll need to pay a deposit on the private operation. Kit questions a suffering Abi about her assault on Toyah. She admits that crime, but Kit also asks her about the fire at No.8. Steve rounds on Leanne for making out she was at Oliver’s grave when the fire broke out, but Leanne admits that she can’t remember anything because she was completely wasted. Sarah asks Todd about Andy and is told that he was an old prison mate of Paul who did time for insurance fraud, and they met at Paul’s rave. Sarah rings Nick with the information. Kevin admits to Debbie that there's a jerry-can missing in the garage.

Part Two: David admits to Roy that he's barely holding on at the moment. Sarah and a furious Nick burst into the cafe looking for their brother. Still under questioning, Abi begins to see Seb instead of Kit and breaks down. Lisa steps in and suspends the interview. Nick and Sarah angrily tell David about the visit from Andy, convinced he must have used him for his insurance scam expertise. David fails to convince them of his innocence. Leanne admits to Steve that she woke up in Victoria Gardens with a box of matches in her pocket. David gets Audrey to take his side but she tells him he has to convince his siblings. Kevin and Debbie review the CCTV footage and spot a hooded figure searching for a jerry-can. Kevin points out that Abi would know exactly where they are stored. Carla visits Rob and tells him that he’ll be tested in the prison to see if he’s a suitable donor. Rob hides his annoyance, having assumed that he would be required to go to hospital. David won't tell Shona where he was at the time of the fire. The doctor tells them they are going to be bringing Max round. Kevin goes to the police station with the footage. They are interrupted by Nick coming in to report David, just as Leanne also arrives to admit what she knows. Having overheard Nick, she quickly leaves.

Part Three: Lisa takes over Abi's questioning but in a gentler manner. She asks her about her mental health and is told about her hallucinations about Seb. The interview is terminated when Lisa is told about the garage's CCTV footage. At the hospital, Shona is shocked when David tells her that on the night of the fire he was helping out as the getaway driver on the robbery at an electrical warehouse in an effort to pay back Harvey. Kit interrupts their argument. Steve is annoyed to hear from Leanne that she chickened out of admitting about having the matches. Abi is released under investigation. As Kevin collects her, she tells him about the hallucinations. Steve admits to Tracy that he helped Leanne with a false alibi. Taken to the station, David is questioned by Kit. He admits to researching arson in desperation, but no more than that. He tells him he was in Denton with Andy at the time of the fire. Shona tells Nick and Sarah about the getaway driving. Max is responding well off the ventilator. Andy doesn't back up David's alibi and he is formally arrested.

Part Four: Tracy storms into the Rovers and in front of Sarah accuses Leanne of being the arsonist. Carla admits to Lisa that she has doubts about Rob. Kevin visits Toyah to plead mercy for Abi. She is unsympathetic until she hears about the hallucinations. Sarah tells Shona and Nick what she witnessed in the Rovers. In turn, he tells them that David has been arrested for attempted fraud and arson. Steve comes clean to Amy about the reason why he missed her call and Leanne's possible involvement in the fire. She tells him he has to be honest with the police. Debbie is welcoming to Abi when she returns to No.13. Kevin tells them that Toyah has agreed to withdraw her complaint. In his cell, Rob rings an associate and tells them they need a plan B. Max comes round and asks for David. Kit brings Leanne in under arrest.
