Plot[]
Part One: Shona agrees to cover Nina's shift at the cafe. As she leaves the house, she's grabbed off the street and bundled into a van. Ken invites Adam and Alya round for tea as Cassie slips more antihistamine into his mug. Leanne starts her community service. Nina tells David that Shona was a no-show at the cafe. Gemma's thrilled when Chesney reveals that there's enough of the compensation money left after clearing their debts to take the family to Alicante. A panicked David tells Kit that Shona has been kidnapped by Harvey Gaskell. He admits to stealing Damon's money so that Kit will investigate.
Part Two: Leanne deals with teenagers heckling her as she picks up litter in Rosamund Street. She's upset when Nick asks her to stay away for a while to let Sam adjust. Ken checks his bank statement and spots some unusual transactions. David admits to Sarah that he used Damon's money to buy No.8. Tracy sees an order for hair straighteners in Ken's statement. She and Adam inform Ken that Cassie is stealing from him. Confronted by the Barlows, Cassie "reminds" Ken that he bought them as a birthday present for Tracy. She storms out when he says he doesn't remember. Sarah thinks David is an idiot for ripping Harvey off and refuses to reach out to Damon for help. Bernie and Dev announce their engagement to their families at the Rovers. After a hard day, Leanne gets drunk on champagne at the bistro and harangues the customers in order to get a rise out of Toyah. The straighteners are delivered to No.1, along with a birthday message for Tracy. Ken's pleased that Cassie's been vindicated. Shona turns up at No.8.
Part Three: Having escaped her captors, Shona tells David that they were definitely Harvey's goons. She's furious to learn that he's been to the police and put them all at further risk. Ken makes Tracy and Adam apologise for falsely accusing Cassie. Abi confides in Nina that Mason's death has reignited her feelings of guilt over Seb's death. Nina assures her she's tough and will get through it. Adam suspects Cassie stole from Ken and covered her tracks but he offends his granddad when he asks if he's so quick to believe Cassie's innocence because he's attracted to her. Kit tells the Platts that Harvey has denied all knowledge of the kidnapping and the stolen money, so David won't be charged. Against David's wishes, Shona asks Kit not to pursue the matter any further. A drunken Leanne drives most of the bistro's customers away. She upsets Sam by dismissing him as not a blood relation. Bernie tells Gemma that she wishes Paul could have walked her down the aisle. No.8 is shot at with an air gun. David, Shona and Max take cover.
Part Four: Leanne assures Sam that she loves him as her own son. He tells her she only loves herself. The Platts hide out at Sarah's flat. With everyone blaming him for their predicament, David leaves to crash at Nick's. Leanne tries to make amends with Sam but realises she isn't welcome at the flat. Chesney is ordered to report to the police station tomorrow after dashcam footage is handed in of him putting sugar in the van's fuel tank. Abi sees Seb again as a bloodied reflection in the kitchen window. Ken tells Cassie that it's thanks to her he's doing as well as he is. He invites her to be his live-in carer. Cassie accepts without hesitation. David tells Nick that his family is dead if he doesn't find a way to mollify Harvey.
