Plot[]
Part One: Preparing for her second day in court, Lauren is worried about Frankie as he hasn't slept well, and the prison's nurse promises to have him checked up. Toyah is concerned when she overhears Roy sharing his concerns about Abi’s hallucinations with Kevin. She offers to talk to her, but Kevin doesn't wish to add to his wife's pressures. Leanne gives Amy a cheque for £12,000, explaining that it’s from Les’s compensation money and she’d like her to accept it as part payment towards the money the Institute stole from her. Carla returns home from hospital and Lisa promises her she’s going to look after her. Roy takes the witness box in court. The prosecution barrister tries to paint Lauren in a bad light when they push him into admitting that he spent an extended time in prison for supposedly murdering her when he could have been released if she had come forward earlier. Abi apologises to Kevin for not being sympathetic when he told her about his probable cancer. She insists that Roy has got the wrong end of the stick. As Roy tells the court that Lauren is a kind and caring person Brie Benson jumps up in the public gallery sporting a sling and claiming Lauren attacked her in the prison.
Part Two: Brie is removed from the court. Arriving to give her evidence, Dee-Dee sees her being evicted from the building but also observes Gus Deering watching on with interest. She decides to investigate. Abi is furious when Toyah suggests she sees a grief counsellor and accuses her of trying to take Alfie off her. Lauren’s barrister tells her that Frankie is not well and has been taken to hospital. Lauren is upset when she is strongly advised not to go and see him due to the effect that her absence will have on the jury. Pointing out to Leanne that neither of them has any mates, Tracy tells her that she has a plan. Max loses his temper in court when he is forced to admit his and Lauren's previous activity with terrorism. Daniel tells Daisy that he wants her to do a DNA test. Bethany rings London to see if her job offer is still on the table. Lauren is in the witness box and cross examined by the prosecution who paints her in the worst possible light and accuses her of outright murder.
Part Three: Lauren insists that Joel's death wasn't planned, and she was only trying to assist Max. Daisy books the DNA test and insists that Daniel go with her. He is concerned about the effect that the news will have on Bethany. By using the circumstances of Frankie’s premature birth, the prosecution barrister maliciously provokes Lauren into admitting that she is glad that Joel is dead. Abi insists to Kevin that she is not going to have any counselling. Desperately worried about Frankie, Lauren begs her barrister to have a word with the judge to enable her to go to the hospital. Leanne and Tracy go for lunch at the bistro and try and make themselves the customers from hell for Toyah. Amy isn't impressed but they enjoy watching Toyah getting grief from Abi when she storms in to threaten her. Leaving the premises, Abi momentarily thinks she sees Seb walking towards her.
Part Four: Dee-Dee takes a stand and shocks the court when she reveals that she has proof that Brie yesterday signed a lease on an expensive flat owned by Gus in an attempt by him to try and manipulate the jury’s view of Lauren. She makes an impassioned speech that this is just the latest in a long line of abuse that Lauren has suffered in her life. Awaiting the test, Daisy tells Daniel that she is certain the baby is Kit’s and makes it clear she doesn't want any pressure from him regarding how he may have messed up his life with Bethany for her. Lisa tries to cheer up a depressed Carla. Max and Lauren visit Frankie in hospital where he has been given antibiotics to fight an infection. She breaks down at the thought of being sent to prison. Tracy and Leanne walk out of the bistro without paying. Arriving back at the Rovers, Daisy’s appalled to find that Jenny has bagged up lots of her stuff to sell as they need cash to give to Carla and that Bethany bought her designer handbag. At the flat, Daniel keeps quiet about where he’s been but is blindsided as Bethany admits she’s accepted the job and wants him to consider a trial move. Lauren tells Max that she doesn’t care about the trial and the only thing that matters is Frankie getting better.
