Plot[]
Part One: Betsy lays a flower and a teddy for Mason at the precinct. Worried about Abi, Kevin suggests that they go out for breakfast, but she insists she's fine as she tries to scrub the blood out of her coat. Kit gets a call to say that the knife has been found. Dylan is worried sick when he hears the news. Misinterpreting his manner for concern that Matty and Logan will be after him, Sean offers to take the day off and to be with him. Joseph overhears Asha telling Dev that a hoax call delayed them getting to Mason and saving him. Abi breaks down crying. Kevin knows full well she is thinking of Seb. Betsy gives a formal statement to Kit. Evelyn tells Roy that she’s due at the university for an induction that afternoon. Taking no interest in his gran's plans, Tyrone assumes she is fine to look after the girls. Regretting her actions, Betsy confesses to Lisa how she helped Matty and Logan to knock off the factory and reveals that Carla knew about it, but she said nothing to protect her. Lisa reels. Dylan is a bag of nerves and stuns Sean when he confesses that the knife that was used to kill Mason was his.
Part Two: A hysterical Sean hears the full story about Mason's murder. Dylan refuses to tell the police what happened. He begs his father for help, saying he wants to flee the area. A terrified Joseph walks into the police station and tells Kit that he made the call that sent the ambulance on a wild goose chase. Roy and Bobby visit Carla and Bobby offers to donate a kidney if she needs it. Carla’s touched. Joseph cries as Kit tries to downplay the seriousness of his actions. Tim is offended when Kevin opines that Mason’s lifestyle would inevitably end in his early death. Abi is annoyed at a further conflict going on around her. Evelyn cannot get any peace from Hope as she tries to get on with her studies. Chesney and Gemma are aghast when Craig brings Joseph home and tells them what happened. Guessing that Hope pushed his son into making the call, Chesney storms out of the house, closely followed by Gemma. Lisa is Carla’s next visitor, demanding to know why she withheld the news of Betsy’s involvement in the factory robbery. Kevin and Abi overhear as Chesney confronts Tyrone and Fiz about Hope’s behaviour. Dylan packs a bag, asking Sean for money.
Part Three: Sean insists that Dylan stays in the flat while he goes to the bank. Kevin takes his anger out on Hope and Joseph's parents for the adverse effects their children’s actions have had on Abi. She is embarrassed by his rage. Carla apologises to Lisa. Bobby is non-committal when Carla asks him what he's been up to. Bernie hears from an upset Joseph that it was Asha's words that prompted him to confess to the police. Abi listens to a news report about Mason but in her own mind hears Seb’s name given instead of Mason’s. Evelyn complains to Roy that she cannot get the peace to study at home and he suggests she needs to change her living arrangements. Bernie approaches Asha in the Rovers for help in consoling Joseph but gets short shrift from her when Asha realises who the hoax caller was. Sean returns to the flat, but he has brought the police with him after telling Kit what he knows. Dylan is immediately arrested, and Sean is horrified as he is led away in handcuffs.
Part Four: Dylan is formally questioned with Sean present as a responsible adult. Kit cannot understand how Dylan and Mason suddenly became good friends and infers there is more to the matter. Hope and Joseph are brought round to No.13 by their fathers to apologise to Abi. She inadvertently mentions that their words won't bring Seb back, instead of Mason. Dev has to speak up for Asha when Bernie informs him of what transpired between them. Bernie is further angered when Dev doesn't support her when Tim and Sally also have a go at her for Joseph and Hope’s behaviour. Still sat with Carla, Bobby is mysterious about a phone call he receives. Dylan goes through his story again. Sean and the boy’s solicitor ask for a break when he gets upset. Lisa tells Betsy that she has to be formally questioned about the robbery tomorrow. Evelyn tells Tyrone she's made arrangements to view the university halls of residence. Sean is staggered when Kit infers that Dylan is to be formally charged.
