Plot[]
Part One: The McDonalds are shocked when Cassie appears at the breakfast table wearing Steve's dressing gown. Tracy's wound up when Cassie hints that she slept with Ken last night. Hope pranks Evelyn by putting gravy granules in her tea bag and posts her reaction online. Daniel and Bethany have an impromptu engagement party at the Rovers. Daisy has to tend bar as they're short-handed. Mason wishes Dylan a happy new year and they shake hands. Betsy pushes Mason to take her on a proper date but he says he's skint. Carla's feeling woozy but most people think she's drunk. Roy advises her to go home and rest. Cassie continues to goad Tracy, suggesting that Ken is probably good in bed as he's so experienced. Tracy takes the bait and slaps Cassie in front of Ken. Daniel makes a speech saying that his future with Bethany is all he cares about. Staggering back to her flat, Carla suffers from hallucinations.
Part Two: Ken demands Tracy apologise for hitting Cassie. She scoffs. Evelyn fills out a university application form. She asks Roy for a reference and is touched when he hands her one he wrote in anticipation. Lisa finds out from Kit that Matty was hauled in for being drunk and disorderly but they've not got enough to charge him. A concerned Roy checks on Carla. He lets himself in using the spare key when she doesn't answer. Finding her barely conscious on the living room floor, he calls an ambulance. Sally and Tim give Mason ideas for cheap dates. He agrees to try cooking Betsy a romantic meal at No.4. Daniel tells Daisy he wants her to stay a part of Bertie's life as she's the closest thing he's had to a mum. Lisa follows Matty when he's released from police custody. Sarah sees Daisy crying after talking to Daniel and asks her what he said to upset her. At the hospital, Roy's informed that Carla may have sepsis.
Part Three: Daisy makes out that Daniel was just asking about her and Kit. Cassie laments to Ken how he's cultured, educated and kind whereas she's the complete opposite. He encourages her not to have such a low opinion of herself. The doctor confirms that Carla has sepsis. Lisa corners Matty and questions him about his movements on the night Becky was murdered. He realises she's investigating off-the-books and goads her about her wife's death. Kit intervenes before things get ugly. Tim tells Dylan about the abuse Mason suffered from his brothers. Sarah thinks Daisy is covering for Daniel and threatens to end him if Bethany ends up as collateral damage. Dylan suggests to Mason that they put the past behind him, now knowing what he went through. Mason agrees. Tracy warns Steve that Cassie is trying to push them out of the picture. She asks him to stay on at No.1 and keep an eye on her. Carla regains consciousness. She decides not to tell Lisa she's ill, thinking she'll dump her rather than go through the pain of losing her.
Part Four: Daisy admits to Jenny that she wants to tell Daniel about the baby. It's clear she'd rather it be Daniel's than Kit's but she says she's not doing anything until she knows who the father is. Tyrone thinks Evelyn is joking when she tells him she's applied to read law. Betsy arrives for her date with Mason. She's impressed by the effort he's gone to but is more interested in taking advantage of the empty house. Evelyn's annoyed that everyone sees her as a laughing stock. She's thrilled when Tyrone tells her she'll smash it. The engagement party descends into a tournament of table football. Jenny buys Daisy a DNA test. Lisa calls Carla when she finds the flat empty. Carla lies, telling her she's at the airport after booking a last-minute flight to Ireland to see Michelle on her birthday.
