Plot[]
Part One: Dee-Dee has a nightmare at the prospect of having Joel's baby. In the morning, Michael dumps Glory on his sister as he has to work. She hides the still-unused pregnancy testing kit behind her bag. Logan and Matty Radcliffe are released due to a lack of evidence. Betsy warns Mason that they've been freed. Shona and David agree not to argue about Clayton as Shona reports that his condition has improved overnight. Ken and Cassie return from Porto. Steve's thrilled when Ken announces that he's dispensing with Cassie's services for cost reasons. Max calls David from prison and reports he killed Joel in self-defence. Dee-Dee and Sarah are playing with Glory at the shop flat when the girl digs out the pregnancy testing kit.
Part Two: Dee-Dee confides in Sarah that she slept with Joel once and might now be pregnant. She hates herself for letting Joel talk her into setting aside her religious beliefs and is afraid of what could be growing inside her. Sarah advises her to get the test over and done with. Doing so, she reports a negative result. Ken delivers the bad news to Cassie over lunch at the bistro. She puts on a brave face. Lauren is brought into the police station for more questioning. Dee-Dee's distracted while meeting with a new client at the bistro. Matty confronts Mason at the precinct. Shona looks in her junk folder for an e-mail about a house viewing and finds one from Clayton's prison. Sally and Sean find Dee-Dee having a panic attack in the street.
Part Three: Mason is roughed up by Matty as Betsy helplessly tries to defend him. Tim intervenes and tells the elder Radcliffe that he dobbed them in to the police. Matty lets Mason go, but makes it clear to Tim that it isn't over between them. Kit takes charge of Dee-Dee, advising her to stop punishing herself for Joel's death. Shona assumes that the e-mail went into her junk folder automatically. David doesn't correct her. Cassie hands out her CV at the cafe. She accepts Ken's offer to help polish it up. Nick tells David he's a fool if he thinks Shona won't uncover his lies. Lauren maintains that she was asleep on the Platts' sofa when Joel died. Dee-Dee confesses to Sarah that the test was positive. David convinces Shona that she might have put the e-mail into spam herself and forgot all about it due to her brain injury.
Part Four: Sarah tries to help Dee-Dee feel more positive about her pregnancy, telling her that she doesn't see Callum when she looks at Harry. Dee-Dee tells Billy about the baby and asks if a termination would jeopardize their friendship. He assures her that she wouldn't be abandoned, by her friends or by God. Working on her CV with Ken, Cassie laces his tea with a mashed-up pill. Lauren gives Dee-Dee food for thought when she tells her that, with Frankie, Joel accidentally gave her everything to live for. Tim dismisses the threat from the Radcliffe brothers. Nick points out to David that Clayton will probably tell Shona that he visited him in prison when he wakes up. David assures him that he has a plan. Ed finds a buyer for the yard. He's pleased as it'll clear the last of his gambling debts. Ronnie admits that he tried to get a mate to beat Joel up. As the Baileys look forward to a Joel-free future, Dee-Dee hasn't the heart to tell them about the baby.
