Plot[]

Part One: Unable to live with the guilt, Dee-Dee heads to the police station, despite Ed's pleas. Bernie checks up on Billy with some food. Upset over the loss of her mother’s ring, Sally sulks with Tim for allowing Mason into their home. Kit sees Dee-Dee. She tells him that the anonymous phone call he received was from her, made after she had hit Joel with a crowbar. Sally comes clean to Maria about what's happened, blaming Tim. Spotting Mason with Matty, Tim strides over and confronts them. Matty laughs in his face but Tim senses Mason’s scared. With Frankie being released tomorrow, Max and Bobby pledge their support to Lauren, who is upset that Dee-Dee is keeping her distance from her. Dee-Dee is formally questioned. She claims she caught Joel going on the run, and that the crowbar she took with her for protection is now in No.3's back yard. She insists she only hit Joel in self defence, and he was alive when she left him, as he must have been afterwards as his car was moved. She now regrets her actions.

Part Two: Craig interrupts Kit with the news that they have found a rock with Joel's blood on it near to where his car was traced. They have also found something else. Todd checks up on Billy while Bernie is there. She tries to get rid of him before Gemma arrives, summoned by her to clear the air. Instead, she erupts in anger again when she finds him in the flat. David overhears Nick sweet-talking Toyah on the phone and ferrets out of him that they are back together. A worried Ed tells Roy and Carla what's happened with Dee-Dee. David confides in Nick about the visiting order from Clayton. Nick advises him that Shona's bound to find out in the long run. Tim answers a knock at the door from Mason. Sally grabs him, wrenches him inside and calls the police. In the Rovers, Carla is telling Lisa what she found out from Ed when Kit walks in and arrests his fellow officer for murdering Joel.

Part Three: Mason insists it was his brothers who were behind the theft, but he will be a dead man if they set the police on them. Dee-Dee is thrown when Kit lets her go. David visits Clayton in prison. He tells him that after counselling, he deeply regrets his actions in killing Kylie. David insists he's dead to him and Shona. Tim steps in and tells an investigating Craig a lie to prevent Mason getting hurt. Sabrina calls on Lauren and Frankie at the hospital. Lauren is touched to receive a photo album from Max and Bobby to document the better days ahead. Max keeps the news of Dee-Dee's questioning from her. Lisa is interviewed by Kit and an officer from the Professional Standards department. Kit tells her that a can of CS spray issued to her was found with the rock. She is unable to give a firm alibi for the time of Joel's death. Gemma slams the door in Billy's face and only lets him into No.5 when he begs for a chance to explain. Kit insists that Lisa murdered Joel.

Part Four: Lisa challenges Kit to charge her and he admits he has more data to gather yet. She thinks he has some sort of personal vendetta when he states she will be kept in overnight. David tells Nick about his prison visit. Nick thinks Shona has a right to know. Billy comes clean to Gemma that he's been having a breakdown, and he's wanted to be dead. Shocked, she instantly changes her attitude towards him and Bernie and Summer are pleased to see them reconciled when they bring the quads home from school. David is about to come clean to Shona when she distracts him by saying she wants their own place and to have a baby of their own. Max and Bobby find out that Dee-Dee has been let go while Kit refuses to answer Carla's questions as to where Lisa is. Max listens on with interest. Sally sees that Mason has a cut lip after confronting his brother. She is surprised when Tim doesn't offer him a bed for the night. Ed mentions to Carla that Joel had a suitcase on him on the night he was murdered.

Leaving the factory at night, Carla is surprised to come across Max and Lauren in the street, putting a suitcase into the boot of David's car.
