Plot[]
Part One: Kit moves into Redbank. Daisy notices an almost empty whisky bottle in his bag, which he claims he swiped from the Rovers the other night. Kit makes out to Lisa that the red car was a dead end. Tim suggests to Sally that they have a mouse when she finds spilled food in the kitchen. David tells Lauren that she and Frankie can move in once they've found somewhere to live. She's grateful. Summer's concerned when Billy organises a grief cafe drop-in, worried it'll set him off. Ryan warns Daisy that Kit was pumping him for information about her and advises her to steer clear. Todd suggests to Billy that he should be attending the grief cafe, not running it. Billy refuses to let anyone down. Sally throws all of her food out in case the mouse has got to it. Yasmeen interests her in donating it to charity, noting that the mayor is visiting Speed Daal for a photo op. Daisy confronts Kit about his manipulative behaviour. He tries to play it off as romantic and suggests that Ryan's being jealous. Daisy also accuses him of lying about the whisky bottle, pointing out that it actually went missing a month ago.
- Returning to the Rovers, Kit clears part of call history from his phone before grabbing the whisky bottle from the bar.
Part Two: Kit lies that he took the bottle on the day of Paul's funeral, stressed over the day's events. Daisy's taken in. Lisa tries to buy festival tickets for her and Betsy in order to score brownie points with her daughter. Carla lets her use the factory's wifi. Daniel accompanies Bethany to a hospital appointment. Lisa has to leave the virtual ticket queue when she's called in to the station. Mason scrounges for leftovers at the cafe but runs off when Yasmeen spots him. Daniel tells Bethany's nurse that she's barely leaving the flat. Summer's terrified when she returns home to find a strange man in the flower shop flat. Going over her phone records, Kit quizzes Lisa about a threatening text message she composed for Joel but never sent on the night he was murdered. She's asked where she was on the night in question.
Part Three: Billy explains to Summer that he met Wayne, an old friend of Paul's, at the addicts group and has employed him to remove the handrails from the flat. Lisa tells Kit that she got hurt intervening in a mugging and was in hospital for most of the evening. Kit points out that Joel was still alive when she was discharged, so she has no alibi. Sally suggests to Carla that they donate their rejects to charity. Lisa is suspended from work.
- Kit spots Joel as he drives his red car down Noble Street. Distracted, he clips Mr Delaney's wing mirror before stopping and getting out.
Bethany remonstrates with Daniel for speaking to the nurse on her behalf, accusing him of taking away her agency. Sarah advises him to let Bethany do things in her own time. Sally excitedly tells Yasmeen that the Gazette are doing a piece on her charity work at the factory. Yasmeen tells her they're already covering the event at Speed Daal. Tim finds a trail of breadcrumbs outside the summerhouse. Billy leaves Wayne alone in the flat while he nips out to the shop. Daisy and Kit agree to start again. Kit reveals that he interviewed someone today who he thinks killed Joel.
Part Four: Carla takes Lisa's place in the queue and buys the festival tickets. Lisa thanks her for being a good mate and they hug. Billy tells Bernie that he saw Wayne. She advises him to steer clear as he's a liar and a thief. Tim equips himself with goggles and a rake to catch the mouse. Sally ventures inside the summerhouse and finds a rucksack inside while Mason watches from the other side of the fence. Billy and Summer discover that Wayne's gone off with Summer's uni bag, Paul's old tablet and a jewellery box containing what's left of Paul's ashes. Sarah encourages Bethany to forgive Daniel and admit that she's struggling. She tries to make her daughter see that she can still do anything she wants with her life. Roy gives Lauren money on behalf of him and Dee-Dee to buy clothes, as well as a blanket with Frankie's name sewn on it. She's overwhelmed by his kindness. Daisy agrees to go out with Kit.
- In Noble Street, Kit chases down a wounded Joel. Joel threatens to report Kit for planting evidence to frame Nathan. Kit lets him go.
