Plot[]
Part One: Fiz won't speak to Tyrone about his admonition of Hope. She finds that their daughter is unwell on her first day back at school. Sarah accuses Adam of stealing Damon’s money from the lock-up. Adam assures her he had nothing to do with it, nor did Daniel and the most likely suspect is Damon’s friend who went to “check” on it. Craig has found an ANPR match on Joel's car at Mosford Station, and on the CCTV he and Kit find footage of Joel putting a bag in a locker, followed by Gus Deering taking it away. Carrie, a customer in the bistro, takes an interest in Nick. Social services find somewhere for Mason to live but it's near his brothers' place. Kit interviews Gus who tells him that the locker contained £15,000 for him to pay for a year's rent on a flat in Flint. The keys were still in the locker that morning. He won't answer a question as to where his son is. On a riverbank, three lads spot a body floating in the water, trussed up in a bag.
Part Two: Stu is still cross with Yasmeen and tells her he is thinking of moving to Germany permanently to be with Eliza and Dom. She hides her hurt but tells him that she wants to part on good terms. In the Rovers, Jenny overhears as Daniel explains to Sarah how Bethany has got it into her head that he won’t want to be with her now she has a stoma bag. She apologises for blaming him in Turkey. Nick flirts with Carrie. Lauren rages at Betsy for helping Joel procure the abortion drugs. Jenny reveals to Daisy that Bethany has dumped Daniel. Daisy sets off to the hospital, determined to put Bethany straight. Sam watches his father and Carrie with disapproval. Stu has packed and thanks Yasmeen for all she's done for him. Craig tells Kit and Lisa that Joel has been found.
Part Three: Kit visits the hospital to break the news to Lauren and Dee-Dee. Dr Gaddas confirms that Hope has a chest infection, and her vaping will certainly have played a part. Daisy assures Bethany she wasn't trying to take Daniel off her and she's making a mistake by dumping him. Lauren and Dee-Dee are stunned. Kit assures them that the body has been identified. Stu tells Mason he's leaving and to follow his cooking talent. Sam tells Carrie his father is engaged to Leanne. She realises he's been warned off and leaves. His case and guitar with him, Stu departs. Bethany summons Daniel and they make up. Nick tells Sam he's seen a nice couple of flats for them, but him and Leanne won't be getting back together. In her flat, Dee-Dee has a nightmare about Joel and wakes up crying.
Part Four: The next day, Kit visits Lauren at the hospital and tells her that the post-mortem revealed that Joel was dead before he entered the river so they’re now looking at a murder investigation. She realises she's under suspicion. Jesse tells David how he’s rented a flat in Oakhill and is expecting a financial windfall. Kit questions Lauren about her movements on 27th September, the last day that Joel was seen. She tells him about her fear that Joel was in the garden of No.8. Mason tells Yasmeen he's quitting to work in a garden centre. Kit questions David to corroborate Lauren's story. Lisa watches Kit leave the house from her car. Betsy is taken aback to find out from her mother that Joel was murdered. Similarly shocked are Ed and Ronnie. Ronnie tells his brother not to tell anyone their secret.
