Plot[]

Part One: Beth avoids Kirk on the morning of her departure. Craig doesn't understand why she's leaving everyone she cares about. Tracy spray-paints 'THIEVES' on the bistro's front door and tells Leanne that they're taking their story to the Gazette. Dylan decides not to go to London. Sean tells him to steer clear of Betsy. DI Costello tells Lisa that the Joel investigation is being wound down due to lack of evidence. Kirk decides not to see Beth off as it's clear she doesn't want him there. Lisa reluctantly tells Joel that he's free to go. He laughs in her face and taunts her by asking after Betsy. She promises him she'll be there when he inevitably slips up. At the cafe, Lisa chides her daughter for not telling her about Joel earlier. Betsy's annoyed that, as always, the investigation is her priority and not protecting her. Daniel, Bertie, Sean, Izzy and Craig see Beth off. Sean presents her with a coat with photos of her factory friends sewn on. Beth stops the taxi when she sees Kirk bringing Peanut to say goodbye. As they hug, Kirk asks to come to Norfolk with her but Beth tells him he deserves better than her. Beth leaves the street in a flood of tears.

Part Two: Betsy kisses Dylan in front of Mason. Kirk suggests to Craig that Beth was scared off by Sid. Lisa confides in Carla that she regrets throwing herself into her job when Becky died, as Betsy had already lost one mum. Carla encourages her to tell Betsy how she feels. Adam gets the CPS lawyer to accept a plea bargain: if Jack pleads guilty to arson reckless to endanger life, he could get a third off his sentence. Betsy admits to Mason that she's using Dylan to make him jealous. Mason tells her to do one. Embarrassed, Betsy gets her own back by swiping a customer's purse at Speed Daal. Rowan tells Leanne that Amy's money won't be returned as she invested it willingly. Leanne's torn but he points out that she's senior management now and must protect the Institute over anything else. Lisa admits to Dee-Dee and Lauren that they're no longer investigating Joel. The customer notices that her purse is missing and calls the police. Stu asks Mason if he took it. Mason denies it only to find the purse in his coat pocket. Lauren goes to visit Frankie and comes face-to-face with Joel.

Part Three: Joel gloats to Lauren that he's got off with it and promises to ruin her life like she's ruined his. Dee-Dee notices on her tracker app that the pair are together and dashes to the hospital. Lisa goes with her. Joel tells Lauren that Frankie would have been better not being born than to have a prostitute deadbeat mum. Lauren launches herself at him and has to be pulled off by a nurse. Sporting a cut lip, Joel's thrilled that his attempt to goad her succeeded. Rowan tells Leanne to try reasoning with Amy. Mason accuses Betsy of setting him up and tells Dylan he's being played. Stu sees the lad brandishing the purse. Dee-Dee and Lisa miss Joel at the hospital. Lisa has to arrest Lauren for assault. Craig quizzes Sid about Beth. He denies threatening her. Jack's annoyed that Kevin's told his school about the plea hearing as everyone will find out. Stu refuses to listen to Mason's protestations of innocence over the purse. The police arrive and arrest the lad. Lisa asks Dee-Dee how she knew Joel was at the hospital.

Part Four: Lisa guesses that Joel has a tracker app on his phone. Dee-Dee makes out that it was installed with his consent while they were together. Lisa's unimpressed. Lauren is questioned and released. Kit tells Kirk that Beth was always going to leave as bigamists get bored easily. He urges him to forget about her. Kirk is taken in by his words of wisdom. Abi tells Jack that he'll just have to take it on the chin if his school friends find out about what he did. Betsy admits to Dylan that she framed Mason. She swears she only meant to get him fired from Speed Daal. Dylan insists that they tell the police but Betsy points out that she'd be arrested. Craig's surprised to find that Kirk no longer questions Beth's departure. Tracy baits Nick and Leanne at the Rovers. She tells Leanne to stay away from Amy until she comes up with the money. Dee-Dee tells Lauren that they need to pull together and not make any more slip-ups. Joel hires a solicitor friend who specialises in family law, saying he has a case he intends to win.
