Plot[]
Part One: Lauren is terrified as her prematurely born son lies in an incubator. Joel tries to put Dee-Dee off from visiting her. Kevin prepares to go to court to answer for his burglary of Stefan's office. Betsy unsuccessfully tries to get Joel to buy her breakfast in the cafe, saying he owes her. Max and Bobby visit Lauren, who is feeling intense guilt about the baby's premature birth. A suspicious Max can't understand why Lauren's supposed flatmate locked her in and asks to meet her. Wanting to keep Hope away from Jack, Fiz is happy for her to drop out of a shopping trip to spend time with Sam. Joel visits Lauren by himself, keen for her to cancel her auto email to Lisa. Hope is bored with Sam and tells him they're finished. Joel is taken aback when Lauren asks him if he wants to meet his son.
Part Two: Joel is overcome with emotion as he looks at the baby in his incubator. Feeling she's drowning, Lauren accepts Joel's offer of help and promises to delete the email to Lisa. Old acquaintances Betsy and Mason meet again in the cafe. Beth lies to Craig that she has a new job lined up. Izzy fears the sack as soon as Carla receives the box of t-shirts back. Fiz is perturbed to find out that Hope has split up with Sam and is off to visit Jack. Beth makes up a box of other items to substitute for the one being delivered back, and she and Izzy manage to intercept the real one. Abi and Tyrone argue when he asks her to keep Jack away from Hope. Stu catches Betsy stealing sandwiches from the corner shop and sees her giving one of them to Mason as they run off. Beth’s delivery of the t-shirts to Sid goes awry when Craig and Kit spot them. Lauren deletes the email in Joel's presence. She names the baby Frankie after her grandad. Joel is overcome again as it was also his own grandad's name, and he runs out of the incubator room in tears. Dee-Dee walks into the unit and asks why he's there.
Part Three: Joel manages to cover and says he's arranging for a women's charity to contact Lauren. Lisa overhears Max and Bobby talking in the cafe and finds out Lauren's had the baby after being locked in her flat. Kit realises the t-shirts are counterfeit but to Craig's surprise he doesn't take any action. Stu finds Mason and offers him a place to stay. The surly lad refuses. Lauren covers when Dee-Dee talks to her about the women's charity. Lisa also visits, unnerving Joel. He and Dee-Dee leave the two women to talk. Beth shows little remorse as Craig lectures her on breaking the law. Evelyn gives Fiz an idea when she says Cassie always did the opposite of what she was told. Hope and Jack enjoy each other's company. Lisa gently questions Lauren about why she was locked in and suggests that Frankie's DNA is tested to finally nail Nathan.
Part Four: Lisa agrees to put the test on the backburner when she sees that Lauren seems overwhelmed. Abi is relieved when Kevin only receives community service. Kit tells Craig he's let Sid go in order that Beth isn't incriminated and not to worry about the large sum of cash that Craig says his mother gave him. Fiz and Tyrone go softer on Hope about Jack. Joel is relieved when Lisa tells him that Lauren won't give a DNA test. She asks for him and Dee-Dee to intervene to get her to change her mind. Betsy advises Mason to take advantage of Stu's kindness and boasts that she's got a rich man in her own pocket. Tyrone apologises to Kevin. Kit meets up with Sid and returns the box of t-shirts to him, instructing him to drop the arrangement with Beth and give him half the proceeds when he's sold them on. In front of an outraged Lisa, Aadi confronts Betsy about the theft and is recompensed by her mother. Watching from his car, Joel is staggered to realise that Betsy is a police officer's daughter.
